Pedar Bruce, President – Wells Fargo Bank
Pedar is Assistant Vice President, Community Development Officer for Wells Fargo. He has 10 years in the financial services industry and works closely with community organizations to support small business, workforce training, affordable housing and financial education efforts in Northern California. In addition to leading many local volunteer efforts for Wells Fargo, Pedar has served on the board of Explorit Science Center in Davis, CA and has mentored youth in Sacramento’s St. Hope Academy and Reading Partners of Sacramento. He graduated from UC Davis with a bachelor’s degree in Managerial Economics.
Dave Smith, CPCU , Vice President– Nationwide
Dave is the Sales Director for Nationwide Insurance supporting agencies in northern CA and NV. He has worked for Nationwide in various positions and leadership for 33 years. He is a graduate of California State University, Sacramento with a focus in Risk Management and Insurance. Dave serves at our local Teen Challenge and Twin Lakes Food Bank in addition to The Center for Fathers and Families. He and his wife Julie have three sons, Alex, Jason, and Steven. Dave enjoys all outdoor activities.
Scott Robertson, Secretary – Tri Counties Bank
Scott is a Senior Vice President for Tri Counties Bank. He has 20 years experience in the financial services industry. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Sacramento State University and graduated with honors from the CBA Graduate School of Retail Bank Management in Virginia. In 2010, he graduated from CBA Commercial Lending School. He is involved in numerous community organizations. Scott currently serves on the board of the California Musical Theatre, the Center for Fathers and Families and the Consumes River Little League. He has also served as a legislative contact for several key local elected officials/legislators across Northern California.
Joe Bittaker, Treasurer – Landmark Construction
In his 30 years experience in the construction industry, the total value of projects Joe has estimated and bid is over two billion dollars. Highlights of his career, before becoming a partner in Landmark Construction, include a 27 campus modernization program for the San Juan Unified School District, serving as Mechanical Project Manager for a 19 story mid-rise building in Sacramento which houses the Army Corp of Engineers Emergency Operation Center, and the installation of some of the first building automation systems in Sacramento. Currently, he is President of Landmark Construction.
Jerome Behrens – Lozano Smith
Jerome (Jerry) M. Behrens is one of the founding partners of Lozano Smith. For more than 30 years he has represented a variety of public agencies throughout California. He specializes in public agency law, with an emphasis on representing public boards as general counsel, transactional and public finance law, real property and public agency defense litigation. Prior to entering private practice, Jerry served as a Deputy Attorney General with the California Attorney General’s office in San Francisco, as a senior Deputy District Attorney with the Fresno District Attorney and as a senior Deputy County Counsel with the Fresno County Counsel. He joined the California Bar in 1974 after earning his Juris Doctor degree from Hastings College of Law. He also holds a Master of Laws in Taxation and is a real estate broker. Jerry earned his B.A. degree in 1967 from the University of California at Berkeley.

Randy Hendershot is the co-founder of Evolution Advisors, a local Business Brokerage firm, and President of Driver Please, Inc. Prior to that, he was an executive with Enterprise Rent-A-Car whose customer service and professionalism are internationally respected. He is passionate about working with local business owners to help them reach their goals when deciding to sell their business. Randy is also actively involved in several charitable community organizations.

Richard Jennings, II – Center for Fathers and Families
Since 1997, Rick Jennings has been the Chief Executive Officer of the Center for Fathers and Families (CFF), a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening families and building communities in Sacramento. Under Rick’s leadership, CFF has become a true family resource center. Today, CFF serves approximately 2,200 at-risk youth each day with after school programs and 100 adults a week with parenting classes, anger management and health services. He and his wife of 35 years, Cassandra, are the proud parents of a son, TJ, a Community College teacher and coach in Hanford, CA and a daughter, Asha, an attorney in Atlanta, GA.
Johnny Perez – Safe Credit Union
Johnny is a highly motivated, Sacramento native banking professional. He devotes his days to ensuring the region continues to thrive. Johnny oversees the community banking event team at SAFE, managing over 200 events per year. He and his team work closely with all 22 SAFE branches, and the community, to provide the education and resources necessary to guide members to financial wellness.
Johnny is an active community servant, volunteering hundreds of hours annually for a variety of charitable organizations. He is on the Executive Board for the Fair Oaks Chamber of Commerce and is the 2016 co-chair of the annual Taste of Fair Oaks event which raises money for local beneficiaries each year.
Johnny holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, with a concentration in Finance, from California State University at Sacramento. He is a proud husband and father to a beautiful 4 year old girl.
Tim Ray – AT&T California
Tim is Regional Vice President for AT&T External Affairs in Northern California where he manages relations with local municipalities from Solano County to the Oregon border. Prior to his current assignment, Tim served as Executive Director for the AT&T’s Sales Operations, Procurement and the Corporate Real Estate organizations. Tim began his career in telecommunications in 1992 with Pacific Bell as an Account Executive. He has held positions working throughout the AT&T footprint including Sacramento, San Ramon, Chicago, Detroit, Dallas and San Antonio. Tim earned a BS in Civil Engineering from Cornell University, an MS in Civil Engineering from University of Pennsylvania and an MBA in Marketing from the Wharton School of Business. Tim currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Center for Fathers and Families, the RiverCats Foundation, the Eskaton Foundation, the Chevo Foundation, the Sac Asian Chamber of Commerce, the Sac Metro Chamber of Commerce and the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. In addition, he serves on Sacramento State’s Business School Advisory Board.

Justin L. Ward, Managing Attorney– The Ward Law Firm
Justin L. Ward attended college at UC Irvine from 1993-1997 and University of Southern California Law School from 1997-2000. He started his legal career doing personal injury defense work for Infinity Auto Insurance in Los Angeles, California. While working for Infinity, Justin primarily handled auto accident cases, including jury trials, bench trials, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and mandatory settlement conferences. In 2005, he left Infinity to work as a criminal prosecutor for the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office. At the LA City Attorney’s office, Justin prosecuted over 20 trials to verdict. Wishing to return to Northern California, Justin left the LA City Attorney’s Office in 2007 to work for the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office. After a year at the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office, Justin left to pursue his lifelong dream of opening up his own practice, The Ward Firm. The Ward Firm specializes in personal injury, employment law, and criminal defense. Personal injury cases include vehicle accidents, slip and fall, civil rights violations, animal attacks, and funeral home negligence. Employment cases include wrongful termination, breach of contract, harassment, and discrimination. Criminal defense matters include DUI, assault, theft, drug sales and possession, domestic violence, identity theft, and white-collar crimes. Justin has obtained many successful civil settlements in his personal injury and employment practice. His criminal jury trial victories have included a stabbing case where the defendant faced 17 years in prison if found guilty.
